Support Services Bureau
The Support Services Bureau provides the materials and services needed for the Maryland Department of State Police (MDSP) and allied Maryland law enforcement agencies to perform their work. To ensure efficient information collection, and communications, the Bureau implements technological changes and manages the MDSP Department's information technology and communications systems.
The Support Services Bureau is divided into four commands:
- Technology and Information Management Command
- Personnel Command
- Logistics Command
- Aviation Command
Together these units manage everything from technology and data systems to recruitment, training, and equipment. They also oversee the MDSP statewide communications network.
Technology and Information Management Command
The Technology and Information Management Command is responsible for collecting and reporting crime and traffic data, and for installing and maintaining the electronic communication systems used by all Troopers. It also implements and supports the MSPD Department's and the public’s enterprise-level State information technology systems, provides Statewide National Crime Information Center (NCIC) oversight, and oversees communication systems training.
