All Maryland State Government Departments and Agencies designate a Veterans Services Specialist (VSS), or liaison, to assist State employees who are current or former military members, or who have family members who have served. These specialists provide general veteran-related information. The Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families Communications (DVMH), Outreach and Advocacy Program collaborates with these liaisons to facilitate information sharing and enhance the coordination of veteran services.
The Maryland State Police Military Liaison supports deploying members of the MDSP family serving in the National Guard and Reserves, including those ready to deploy. This liaison
acts as the main point of contact between the Maryland State Police and the United States Military for various MDSP/Military missions.
