Administrative Trial Boards

The Maryland Department of State Police (MDSP) holds Administrative Trial Boards to review alleged policy violations by troopers.

Which law applies?

Trials are held only if the trooper requests one, as allowed by the law above.

Where are trials held?

  • Incidents before July 1, 2022 take place at:
    MDSP Headquarters
    1201 Reisterstown Road
    Pikesville, MD 21208
  • Incidents on or after July 1, 2022 take place in the county where the incident occurred.

Trials are generally open to the public. Note: Maryland law allows the Superintendent to close a trial board to the public's view if there is “good cause, including to protect a confidential informant, an undercover trooper, or a child witness" (Section 3-107 (e)(II) of the Maryland Public Safety Article).

Upcoming trials

Check this page daily after 5 p.m. for any schedule changes. Trials may be postponed or cancelled if the matter is resolved before the hearing date.
