The Maryland State Police Waterloo Barrack serves Howard County that provides traffic safety and highway patrol, criminal enforcement, and community services, including a 24/7 Toys for Tots drop-off location. The Waterloo campus serves as a central hub for several elite state-level units including:

  • K9 team
  • Bomb squad
  • Special Tactical Unit (S.T.A.T.E.)
  • Underwater recovery and hostage recovery

Built between 1938 and 1939, the Waterloo Barrack is one of the last remaining original structures from that era designed to handle the rise of high-volume traffic on Maryland state highways.
